1000 Feet Fiberglass Panels to Replace Deteriorated Wood Bridge

1000 Feet Fiberglass Panel Decks will Replace Deteriorated Wood Bridge at River Strand Golf & Country Club.

Links Bridges’ new Fiberglass Deck Panel product is really making an impact. For those who haven’t heard about this, it is designed for any bridge with a sound structural base but a deteriorated deck.

The ‘old’ solution for that was to replace the wood. The problem with that solution is that with today’s timbers – which mostly originate from fast growth plantations – the rot and deterioration due to UV and rain exposure starts to set in relatively quickly and replacement is required again, before you know it.

Links Bridges Fiberglass Deck Panels are the ‘once and for all’ solution. This product is custom made panels that each cover 2’ and the full width of the bridge. They sit on either the bridge frame or an existing deck (depends on the current state of things). They are easy to install and at the seams is a ‘trough’ which sits below the adjoining panel and allows water to escape to the sides instead of getting trapped under the panel.

Like other Links Bridges products, the panels are a perfect ‘wood’ look and bridge users will assume that they are crossing a new ‘real’ wood bridge deck made with 12” wood timbers.

Several golf courses have tried Links Bridges Fiberglass Deck Panels. Every one of them, upon seeing the 1st bridge deck installed, ordered the product for more bridges.

In one case, the Riverstrand Golf and Country Club in Florida is covering over 1,000 feet of their existing wood bridges with Fiberglass Deck Panels.  This work is due to be completed in September of 2018.
