If the rotten wood decks on your golf course bridges are telling you that they need attention, YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT A NEW ALTERNATIVE FROM LINKS BRIDGES.
Links Bridges, the makers of 100% Fiberglass Bridges, now offers “Water-tight, UV-tight, Wood-finish Fiberglass Panels”.
In most cases, these panels can go right over the existing deck. These panels will protect the bridge deck and the substructure from any further damage caused by UV and water exposure.
Do not confuse this with other ‘composite’ products currently available as a substitute for wood. There is no other product that will compare performance-wise.
Links Bridges Deck Panels:
Actually resemble ‘real’ wood to a degree that makes it indistinguishable.
Are constructed in panels (2’ X width of the bridge) that have a ‘water shedding’ trough system that keeps water from penetrating to the substructure.
Are made to withstand the rigors of heavy traffic including tractors and trucks.
Have special ‘slip-resistant’ qualities to prevent pedestrian accidents and liabilities.
Are resistant to UV damage.
Are incredibly easy to install and can even be installed without closing access to the bridge.
You can have a ‘NEW’ bridge, at a fraction of the cost. By protecting the sub-structure from UV and water exposure, you are guaranteeing to extend its life by decades.

As a footnote, for those considering replacing the rotten lumber deck with fresh lumber, it is important to be aware that the ‘new’ deck will deteriorate faster than the deck it replaced.
There is increasingly less timber available to be harvested from virgin old-growth sources. Today’s timbers are harvested from fast-growing commercial plantations. The result is a product much less dense that will show the affects of UV and moisture deterioration much more quickly.
